Digital matrix and artwork
Definition, production and acquisition — boundaries and clarity
Digital matrix and artwork
The digital image serves as reference and identification of the artwork. It is not marketed as a free file, nor as reusable or reproducible content by the acquirer.
Acquisition ≠ Digital file
Acquiring an artwork does not correspond to purchasing a digital file, but rather to accessing an artwork with a defined curatorial status, which may or may not be physically materialized, as indicated.
Production and materialization
Whenever an artwork is delivered in physical format, production occurs under the coordination of Elegia Studio.
Printing is not:
- delegated to the client
- performed in a generic manner
- separate from the artwork as an entity
Materials, formats, and suppliers are chosen based on the artwork and its framework.
Nature of acquisition
Acquiring an artwork from Elegia Studio:
- does not imply the transfer of exploitation rights
- does not include files for autonomous reproduction
- is not equivalent to a downloadable digital product
Each artwork is treated as a certified artistic asset, with clear limits regarding its use and circulation.
Process and security
There are no automatic payments or impulsive purchasing flows. Any acquisition is preceded by:
1. Clarification
of the artwork's status
2. Confirmation
of applicable conditions
3. Validation
by the studio
This process exists to protect the artwork and ensure total clarity for the acquirer.
In summary
Elegia Studio does not sell files.
It works with artworks.
Digital is a medium, not a product
The artwork is defined before being materialized
Production is always coordinated
Clarity comes before transaction
